Daily Schedule – Kindergarten:

 

12:00—12:10: Arrival

Children arrive, check in and meet on the carpet to sing together.

 

12:10– 12:30: Rug Time           

Calendar activities (date, days in school, weather, patterning, counting and other math concepts), daily messages, daily friendship goal, overview of the day’s schedule and prep for the day’s math explorations.*

 

12:30 – 1:00 Math Explorations

Concepts are presented to the whole group and then children work individually or in small groups to complete hands-on, developmentally appropriate math projects.*

 

1:00 – 1:20 Recess

(One day a week we go to the gym for PE from 1:00—1:30).

 

1:45: Hand washing/Snack/Story Time*

 

1:45 – 2:45 Literacy Activities

Whole and small group reading instruction, independent reading, buddy reading, journal writing, word work and handwriting. Library is one day each week during this time.

 

2:45 – 3:15 Free Choice Exploration/Play

Blocks, water table, texture table, class library, writing center, blocks, puzzles, play dough, make-it station, painting, dress-up  and other rotating activities are available to everyone.

 

3:15 – 3:30 Rug Time/Dismissal

Recap of our day together.
